Distributed Systems Engineer, L4

We are seeking a highly skilled Distributed Systems Engineer to join our team at Netflix. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our distributed systems infrastructure.
Your primary focus will be on building and shipping innovative experiences for our members and creators around the globe. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software and infrastructure changes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems
- Collaborate with our engineering teams to ensure smooth delivery of software and infrastructure changes
- Work on complex technical projects, including our Continuous Delivery (CD) system Spinnaker and our higher-level declarative delivery-based platform, Managed Delivery
- Improve the safety of infrastructure changes and reduce friction and time to deploy software across our internal fleet
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience writing, improving, maintaining, and sunsetting critical services at a tremendous scale
- Strong software skills in Java or other JVM languages
- Experience operating complex distributed systems components, including databases, APIs, and controllers
- Ability to break down complexity, iterate, and communicate progress to teammates and partners
