The Commercial Insurance division is seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our Energy Practice. This pivotal role is centered on expanding a primarily Renewable Energy and Power portfolio, which includes Package, Automobile, Pollution, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella, and International lines. Experience across multiple lines is highly valued.

The Underwriter within Chubb's Energy department will play a crucial role in driving the growth and profitability of a designated book of business within their territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities within both new and existing production sources.
  • Recognize cross-selling prospects and engage in agency planning and goal setting.
  • Conduct regular visits to brokers and insured clients based on established monthly objectives.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven sales and marketing acumen with the ability to effectively position accounts and finalize deals.
  • Demonstrated success in marketing, managing producer relationships, and developing new business.
  • Strong negotiation skills at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • High proficiency in multi-line P&C underwriting processes and risk assessment.
  • Effective management of desk operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for engaging with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of underwriting technicalities, compliance, coverage, products, pricing, and strategies.
  • Results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset, strong business acumen, self-motivated, and capable of thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • Responsible for the professional development, retention, and performance evaluation of team members.

Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of underwriting experience in the Energy sector and/or commercial P&C multi-line experience, with a focus on Renewable Energy, Power Generation, Mining, and Oil & Gas.
  • Experience across multiple lines of insurance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with the insurance industry.
  • Understanding of underwriting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective internet navigation skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Negotiation and marketing skills.
  • Basic leadership capabilities.
