Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the lawyer to enhance law office effectiveness.
  • Request authorization from employers and workers' compensation carriers for treatment.
  • Identify clients' emergent needs for treatment and temporary benefits, and notify the attorney accordingly.
  • Coordinate intake for front desk walk-ins and greet all guests.
  • Download court calendars from online courts.
  • Generate form letters to clients for IME appointments.
  • Coordinate appointments and calendar accordingly.
  • Call clients before hearing dates to ensure their presence in court.
  • Read file information to determine the need for interpreter services in court.

Requirements:
  • At least two years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in the Workers Compensation area of law.
  • Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day law office operations.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office and Dropbox.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple activities and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Effective communication with clients and tracking of case status in SmartAdvocate.
