Job Summary

The Service Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that our diesel mechanics perform repairs efficiently and effectively, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership and technical skills to manage a team of skilled technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics to join our team.
  • Technical Support: Assist mechanics in developing their skills with the support of the Service Manager.
  • Repair Scheduling: Schedule repair work and assign technicians to mechanical segments that match their skill level to ensure quality.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all repairs are assigned to mechanics in an equal and fair manner, and provide technical support when necessary.
  • Progress Monitoring: Check progress of each repair order throughout the day, and maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks.
  • Productivity Monitoring: Monitor mechanics' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience: Two years related shop and technician supervision experience.
  • Certifications: Commercial drivers license and insurability with our company's carrier, ASE Master Certification program, Diamond Certification Program, Cat, Cummins, Eaton, Fuller, or other appropriate manufacturer certifications.
