Position Summary:
The Recovery Support Program Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing and managing the RCC Recovery Coaching Program. This position involves the training, recruitment, and oversight of Recovery Coaches, along with the development of referral networks and data management. The Coordinator ensures the quality of Recovery Coaching services delivered by the RCC's Recovery Coaches through comprehensive training, supervision, and ongoing support.
The Recovery Support Program Coordinator is well-versed in the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) model, which emphasizes a strengths-based approach for individuals dealing with active addictions or at any stage of recovery from substance use disorders, codependency, or other addictive behaviors. Recovery Coaching is facilitated by trained professionals who aim to foster recovery, eliminate obstacles, build recovery resources, connect individuals with support services, and promote a sense of hope, positivity, and healthy living.
FLSA Classification: Hourly
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct CCAR RCA (Recovery Coach Academy) training sessions and other relevant training as needed in the region.
- Recruit and train volunteer Recovery Coaches to provide high-quality support to individuals in recovery.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to establish effective referral and engagement systems for recovery coaching.
- Develop and implement written protocols for accessing Recovery Coaches through community resources tailored to specific needs.
- Work with employment development agencies to ensure Recovery Coaches are equipped to provide employment service access and referrals.
- Engage educational institutions and community organizations in training initiatives, including Recovery Coach Basics and Parenting Education.
- Conduct quality assurance evaluations with each provider and community resource at least quarterly.
- Coordinate scheduling and locations for on-call Recovery Coaching to address peak demand and urgent needs.
- Provide oversight and guidance to Recovery Coaches.
- Establish environments for Coachervision as new needs arise.
- Perform data management tasks to meet reporting obligations.
Reports to: Program Manager
Supervises: Peer Recovery Coaches
Professional Qualifications:
- Preferred lived experience in recovery and a strong commitment to supporting individuals in their recovery journey.
- In-depth knowledge of recovery principles and respect for diverse recovery pathways.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and inspire coaches and volunteers.
- Personable and approachable demeanor; skilled in working with diverse populations.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen attentively and convey information clearly.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with community resources.
- Proficient in managing and disseminating information effectively.
- A team player with high professional standards, a positive attitude, and adaptability.
- Completion of required trainings (RCA, RCA Train the Trainer, Ethics, and Ethics Train the Trainer) within specified timeframes.
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to drive.
- Proficient in utilizing designated data platforms for coaching, data management, and training others.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evening, weekend, and travel requirements.
