Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist PRN will provide pharmaceutical care to patients in the Critical Care and Emergency Medicine department. This role will involve interpreting and clarifying medication orders, researching and responding to drug information requests, and monitoring drug therapies for appropriateness and formulary adherence.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret and clarify medication orders for all types of medications
  • Research and respond to drug information requests
  • Monitor drug therapies for appropriateness and formulary adherence
  • Provide therapeutic drug monitoring of targeted medications as applicable
  • Monitor drug therapy for potential drug-drug, drug-food, and drug-disease interactions
  • Advise patients, family, and medical staff on use of various medications, including dosage, side effects, drug interactions, and composition
  • Directly supervise the work of pharmacy technicians and support staff as required by the Colorado Board of Pharmacy
Requirements
  • Doctorate Degree PharmD (preferred) or BPharm Required
  • 1-3 years PGY1 residency completion preferred
  • PHA-Licensed Pharmacist - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
  • ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association
  • BCPS-Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist - BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties
  • PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association
  • PBID-Pharmacy Based Immunization Delivery - BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of pharmacy
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacy-related state and federal laws
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
  • Ability to demonstrate sound problem-solving/decision-making skills
