Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Interstate Waste Services. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery, including dozers, excavators, and bucket loaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy-duty equipment, such as dozers, excavators, and bucket loaders, to load, push, and transfer solid waste material.
  • Set up and inspect equipment prior to operation to ensure safe and efficient use.
  • Have knowledge of machine capabilities and limitations to perform work duties in compliance with safety specifications.
  • Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines to perform work duties in compliance with safety specifications.
  • Receive written and oral instruction regarding material movement and maintain an efficient flow by loading transfer trailers to target load weight and reduce traffic congestion.
  • Create and maintain inclines or ramps as needed.
  • Repair machinery and replace parts as needed to ensure optimal equipment performance.
Requirements
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • High school/GED education completed, higher education is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as Equipment Operator required.
  • Experience from the sanitation industry is strongly preferred.
  • Fluency in English required, Spanish bilingual is a plus.
