Position Summary

The primary objective of this role is to ensure that guest accommodations are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. This includes both vacant and occupied rooms, adhering to established quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Thoroughly clean and prepare guest bedrooms and bathrooms following established protocols.
  2. Manage linen by sorting, counting, folding, and transporting.
  3. Make beds and restock supplies, including amenities and linens.
  4. Lift and reposition furniture weighing up to 20 lbs.
  5. Maintain cleanliness of bathroom floors using appropriate cleaning tools.
  6. Utilize vacuum cleaners and cleaning agents for carpets and upholstery.
  7. Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  8. Wash and sanitize tile surfaces, tubs, sinks, and toilets.
  9. Clean windows, doors, and sills.
  10. Empty waste receptacles and replenish bathroom supplies.
  11. Organize and maintain cleaning carts and linen closets.
  12. Complete assigned paperwork accurately and promptly.
  13. Ensure cleanliness in hallways, restrooms, elevators, and other common areas.
  14. Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Supportive Duties

In addition to the essential functions, this position may involve:
  • Executing general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products to meet health regulations.
  • Responding to unexpected cleaning needs and special guest requests.
  • Assisting colleagues in maintaining a tidy work environment.
  • Upholding a professional appearance at all times.
  • Adhering to safety protocols established by the hotel.
  • Carrying out other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Following all safety and sanitation guidelines as mandated by health authorities.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Ability to read and write for effective communication.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of carpet and floor care.
  • Experience with cleaning equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies.

Physical Requirements
  • Work performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, with a controlled temperature environment.
  • Ability to stand and move efficiently for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 75 lbs regularly.
  • Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Physical agility to bend, squat, and stretch as needed for cleaning tasks.
  • Requires good manual dexterity for operating cleaning equipment.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience
  • Previous experience in commercial housekeeping is essential.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus.

Licenses

A valid driver's license is preferred.

Attendance
  • Consistent attendance is crucial for the successful execution of this role.
