Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Guest Room Attendant is to ensure that guest accommodations are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort. This role involves thorough cleaning and preparation of guest rooms to meet established quality benchmarks, ensuring a sufficient number of available and pristine rooms for incoming guests.

Key Responsibilities

The Guest Room Attendant will:

  • Systematically clean and reset guest bedrooms and bathrooms according to company standards.
  • Sort, count, fold, and transport linens efficiently.
  • Make beds and replenish supplies, including amenities and clean linens.
  • Lift and reposition furniture weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Maintain cleanliness of bathroom floors using appropriate cleaning tools.
  • Utilize vacuum cleaners and proper cleaning agents for carpets and upholstered furniture.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Wash tile walls, tubs, sinks, and toilets to ensure hygiene.
  • Clean windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empty waste receptacles and replenish bathroom supplies.
  • Organize and stock cleaning carts and linen closets.
  • Complete any assigned paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness in hallways, restrooms, elevators, and other common areas.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management.

Attendance and Compliance

Regular attendance is crucial for the successful execution of this role. Employees are expected to adhere to the attendance standards set forth by the company. Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is mandatory.

Supportive Duties

In addition to the essential functions, the Guest Room Attendant may be required to:

  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products.
  • Assist colleagues in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Respond to special guest requests and unexpected cleaning needs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Strong communication skills in the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Familiarity with sanitation standards and cleaning procedures.
  • The ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and push/pull equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Good physical stamina to perform tasks for extended periods.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Previous experience in commercial cleaning or hospitality is highly desirable.

Grooming Standards

All employees are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
