Job Overview

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic culinary students to participate in our FLIK Culinary Internship Program. This paid internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and inspirational kitchen culture.

As a FLIK Culinary Intern, you will work closely with our experienced culinary team to prepare menu items, rotate through various kitchen stations, and engage with guests to tailor plates to their dietary needs. You will also have the opportunity to meet with our team dietitian, review culinary and front-of-house standards, and learn about our wellness and sustainability initiatives.

Our Culinary Internship Program is designed to provide professional development opportunities, including daily on-the-job training, meetings with FLIK leadership and mentors, and access to subject matter experts. You will also have the opportunity to participate in value-added program events via LMS/WebEx/Zoom/Teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare menu items across all kitchen stations
  • Rotate through various stations: pizza/pasta, deli, salad bar, smoothie, grill, and international cuisine
  • Engage with guests and tailor plates to their dietary needs
  • Meet with the team dietitian
  • Review culinary and front-of-house standards
  • Learn about wellness and sustainability initiatives
  • Adhere to "platinum service" customer service standards
  • Consistently practice safety and sanitation protocols
  • Assist with catering events, including setup and execution
  • Develop professional relationships and enhance interpersonal skills

Requirements:

  1. Currently enrolled in a college or professional culinary program
  2. Meet university's GPA requirement for Internship
  3. Successful completion of sanitation standards training
  4. Successful completion of relevant knife skills and/or Intro to Culinary coursework
  5. Available to work 20 – 40 hours a week based on business needs & internship requirements
