Job Summary

The Family Support Specialist is a vital member of our team at The Children's Clinic, Serving Children and Their Families. This role is an integral part of our Expansion Select Home Visitation Program, funded by First 5 LA. The successful candidate will work closely with new parents, providing guidance and support to help them bond with their children and promote healthy development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, understanding their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Provide education and resources to parents, empowering them to make informed decisions about their child's care.
  • Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to ensure a comprehensive approach to family support.
  • Conduct home visits, assessing the family's environment and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Document progress and outcomes, using data to inform program development and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work or child development.
  • Experience working with families, particularly those with young children.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records systems.
