Job Responsibilities- Drive early-stage technology development with high disruption potential and mature these technologies from initial concept to successful product introduction.
- Build and cultivate a broad network of stakeholders, partners, and subject matter experts across government agencies, national labs, strategic partners, and academic institutions.
- Shape funding agency priorities and synthesize insights into actions that improve proposal quality, win rate, and GE Vernova MGTP/MGPP impact.
- Communicate cross-organizational and cross-business technology strategies to Senior VP and CEO level executives across GE as well as to C-suite level stakeholders at external businesses, government agencies, and universities.
- Create and support a culture of technical excellence, teamwork, and respect/trust.
- Leverage internal and external networks to create innovative new breakthroughs and opportunities that drive strategic growth.
- Engage in leadership of GE Vernova Advanced Research, partnering with staff to maximize vitality, formulate strategies, and execute on strategic initiatives.
- PhD Degree in electrical engineering, or related field with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with a minimum of 18 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum 10 years of experience leading teams or large projects.
- Demonstrated deep domain knowledge in the areas of electrical systems, electronics, and energy-related technologies.
- Experience leading large government research programs and writing successful R&D proposals.
- Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary research teams, and reporting out to Senior VP and CEO leadership levels.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to Federal Contract Provisions.
- Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Aligns and translates technical capability to business/customer relevance.
- Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of technology opportunities and gaps, and is knowledgeable about industry trends.
- Demonstrates multidisciplinary mindset and behaviors.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead multimillion-dollar programs.
- Ability to make decisions with confidence when problems or solutions are not well defined.
