Role Summary

The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) Milwaukee Campus is in search of part-time Client Support Specialists to enhance our Client Services and Animal Care team. In this role, you will contribute significantly by providing essential services to the community and supporting animal welfare. You will have the chance to collaborate with veterinary professionals, behavior specialists, and a dedicated management team. If you are eager to make a positive impact in the lives of countless animals and their owners while being part of a passionate and supportive team, this position may be for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Embrace a welcoming, supportive, and non-judgmental attitude towards all clients, callers, and colleagues.
  • Assist in finding homes for animals through our same-day adoption process.
  • Address client inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Handle register transactions and assist customers with retail products.
  • Welcome animals arriving through owner surrenders, transfers from other organizations, and end-of-life services.
  • Maintain precise and objective records in our animal management software.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively within your department and across other departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Availability to work a consistent weekend shift each week and rotating holidays.
  • Ability to routinely lift 25lbs and up to 50lbs.
  • Commitment to our organizational values of compassion, respect, kindness, innovation, professionalism, and equity.
  • Capability to engage with clients, staff, and volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage your personal schedule and timecard effectively.
  • Previous experience in client services and animal care is advantageous.
