Job Summary

Rice Insurance Services Center is seeking a highly skilled Claims Adjuster to join our team. As a Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for managing insurance claims to determine the extent and legitimacy of claims and issue benefits as jurisdictionally required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate Claims: Gather documentation from all affected parties, identify and verify damage to person or property, and establish appropriate pricing of claims based on research and analysis.
  • Notify Clients: Inform clients of the results of investigations and discuss lines of authority for specific claims resolution.
  • Negotiate Claims: Negotiate claims with claimants and/or claimants' legal counsel.
  • Process Claims: Properly reserve funds, adjust client claim reserves, and obtain required releases for finalization of claims.
  • Maintain Post-Litigation Files: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of claims and related documentation.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Review rates, rules, and regulations to ensure that claims practices correctly follow standards and laws.

Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 4-8 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree with at least one year of additional legal education or experience in a legal or errors and omissions professional liability field required.
  • Licenses: A valid applicable state adjuster license required, with the ability to obtain insurance adjuster and agent licenses within 60 days of employment.
  • Skills: Strong work ethic, solid communication, writing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage a high case load independently and interact well with all levels of internal and external business partners.
