Position Overview

The Echo/Vascular Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position requires expertise in both echocardiography and vascular imaging, ensuring comprehensive patient care.

Certification Requirements
  • Mandatory Certifications: BLS, RDCS-Adult.
  • Additional Certifications: Various certifications may be necessary depending on specific job functions.
Job Responsibilities
  • Specialty: Echo/Vascular Technician.
  • On-Call Duties: Yes, including night and weekend shifts. Call coverage is rotated among technicians weekly, from Thursday to Thursday. Evening call hours are from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM, while weekend hours are from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. If dual-registered in echo and vascular, the technician will be the sole on-call provider; otherwise, responsibilities will be shared.
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks.
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in Echo (Bubble Study, Contrast Agents, M-Mode, RIT/RVOT) and Vascular (Doppler Studies, Peripheral Vascular, Transcranial Doppler, Upper/Lower Extremity Venous and Arterial, Renal Artery Duplex). Proficiency in Ultrasound Vascular (Carotid, Vascular Arterial) is also necessary.
  • Pending Licenses: Compact licenses are accepted at the time of submission, but an AK license is required before commencing work in acute specialties.
  • Preferred Experience: Familiarity with CERNER, 3D Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echos, TEE, Treadmill Stress Echos, and Vascular (Arterial Mapping/Graft Studies, M-Mode). Experience in Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospitals is advantageous. General skills such as IV Starts, PACS, and Portables are preferred.
  • Unit Information: The unit welcomes first-time travelers and allows for any color scrubs to be worn.
Job Expectations
  • Certifications: BLS, RDCS-Adult are required.
  • RVT Certification: Must be willing to obtain RVT certification prior to the start date.
Schedule Information

On-call responsibilities include night and weekend coverage, with a rotation among technicians.

Additional Information
  • The unit is open to first-time travelers.
  • Scrubs of any color are permitted.
