About the Role

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel and Trailer Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT Inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment, including electrical, brake, and cooling systems.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on trailer equipment and systems, including brakes, air lines, and auxiliary pumps.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working properly.
  • Manage concurrent assigned tasks, making effective judgments as to prioritizing work-related activities and time allocations.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and findings observed on Repair Orders using company-issued iOS devices and our proprietary TRAIT application.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
  • Active CDL B Required.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire.
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
