Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Lead Teacher at KIPP Delta, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum
  • Crafting academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
  • Using data to inform instructional decisions
  • Providing daily feedback on student performance and planning for individual learning needs

You will also have the opportunity to build a positive school and classroom culture by:

  • Embodying and maintaining our school's values, policies, and culture
  • Developing positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
  • Establishing and maintaining strong communication with parents and sharing progress
  • Attending critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, parent-teacher conferences, and more

  • Committing to working with families as equals, co-educators, learners, and decision-makers

Other responsibilities may include supporting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities, writing letters of recommendation, and other tasks as needed.


Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid Arkansas teaching license in Special Education (or reciprocity in another state)
  • Arkansas Qualified Teacher (AQT) status by demonstrated content knowledge in the Core Academic subject area being taught
  • Passing scores on the PRAXIS I and PRAXIS II exams in the content area hired for (or commitment to complete both tests within two months of hiring date)
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Demonstrated commitment to closing the opportunity gap
