About the Role

The Wastewater Treatment Technician is a key member of our operations team, responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective treatment of wastewater at our facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes and a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine operational checks and maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Collect and analyze wastewater samples to monitor water quality and identify potential issues.
  • Operate and maintain pumps, valves, and other equipment to ensure smooth operation of the wastewater treatment process.
  • Assist with the offloading of waste streams and chemical treatment products, and participate in wastewater tank-to-tank transfers.
  • Load and unload bulk tankers, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform routine cleanings of wastewater process equipment, and monitor the operation of all wastewater processing equipment.
  • Identify and report any operating anomalies to the Operations Supervisor or Maintenance Department.
  • Assist with the operation of the sludge transfer and dewatering systems, and participate in trailer rinse outs.
Requirements:
  • Wastewater certification preferred.
  • Wastewater treatment experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Reworld offers a fully funded GED program for employees who do not have a high school diploma.
  • Formal training in higher education preferred.
  • Ability to operate wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, vessels, and media change-outs.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze abnormalities within the wastewater treatment process.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Physical Demands and Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work in outdoor elements and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Climb stairs and/or ladders, and pass a Functional Strength Evaluation.
  • Pass a Respirator Fit Test (RFT) and Pulmonary Function Test (PFT).
  • Must be able to pass Basic + Training through HASC.
  • Possess 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, or ability to pass the 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
