Job Overview: The Cardiac Monitoring Specialist plays a crucial role in patient care by monitoring various cardiac indicators and alerting healthcare professionals to any significant changes in a patient's condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously observes cardiac and other monitoring systems to identify arrhythmias.
- Documents arrhythmias and communicates findings to the assigned nursing staff.
- Records a baseline strip for all monitored patients at the beginning of each shift.
- Replaces electrode pads, wires, and batteries as necessary to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
- Conducts EKGs as required for patient assessment.
- Ensures that all emergency equipment is maintained in a clean and operational state.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to support patient care.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of Northwell Health's training program is mandatory.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a hospital environment as a Nursing Attendant or Telemetry Technician is required.
- Alternatively, successful completion of an Advanced Medical Technician program or a CCU course is acceptable.
- Proficiency in operating cardiac monitors and EKG machines is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow both written and verbal instructions are necessary.
Salary Information: The salary range for this position is between $23.56 and $25.91 per hour. This range represents a good faith estimate of potential compensation and may be adjusted in the future based on various factors.
