We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of biological specimens.
Key Responsibilities- Process and prepare patient samples for testing, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity.
- Perform waived and moderate complexity testing under direct supervision, meeting performance standards and knowledge level determined for the approved testing.
- Track and locate missing specimens, monitor pending lists, and perform maintenance activities on laboratory equipment as directed.
- Participate in quality control for testing, basic troubleshooting, and communicate technical concerns to technical staff.
- Assist with inventory management, participate in department initiatives to reduce costs and improve service, and perform miscellaneous support duties as defined by the department.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and must be 18 years or older if performing phlebotomy.
- Must exhibit personal maturity and responsibility, excellent reading, writing, and math abilities, and communicate effectively in oral and written formats.
- Ability to perform detailed work, work with frequent interruptions, multi-task, problem solve, and memorization.
- Must exhibit skills in exceptional customer service, good performance review, and passing on-site competency evaluation and/or assessment as defined by the department.
- Previous clinical laboratory experience.
- Successful completion of a laboratory assistant program.
- Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and handling, knowledge of medical terminology, and additional related education and/or experience.
