Position Overview:
As a crucial member of the Cleveland Clinic at Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center, you will collaborate with dedicated healthcare professionals to deliver compassionate and patient-centered care. Our institution is esteemed as one of the leading healthcare providers in the nation.
Role of Hospice Care:
In hospice care, we support patients and their families in navigating the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of end-of-life experiences. Our mission emphasizes comfort over cure, prioritizing family involvement alongside patient care, and enhancing quality of life rather than focusing solely on longevity.
Applicants must possess a minimum of one year of experience and be registered with the Ohio Nurse's Aide Registry. Please include your STNA certification number in your application.
Work Schedule:
This position requires a commitment to the night shift, specifically from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Certification and registration with the State of Ohio Nurse's Aide Registry (STNA).
- A patient-first approach to caregiving.
- A strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic care delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certification and registration with the State of Ohio Nurse's Aide Registry (STNA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience as an aide in acute, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- For Hospice Aides, certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse Assistant (CHPNA) is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at an 8th-grade level.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to walk, climb stairs, and assist in the movement of patients.
- Field staff must be capable of driving to various locations.
- Medium Work - Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical demands exceed those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adhere to standard precautions by utilizing personal protective equipment as required.
