Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy operations and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, dispensing, and inventory management
  • Conduct patient interviews to obtain medication histories and provide education on medication use
  • Perform various administrative tasks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
  • Develop knowledge and skills in medication ordering, receipt, stocking, and inventory control
  • Participate in mock job and residency interviews, as well as project opportunities to work with site and system leadership

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Registration as a pharmacy technician is required
  • Must be registered as a pharmacy technician in the state of Wisconsin and Illinois

Education Required:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Pharmacy

Experience Required:

  • No prior experience is required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Enrolled in the first or second year of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree program
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, kneel, climb, twist, crawl, and reach above shoulders
  • May be exposed to chemical hazards
