Mymedtrust is seeking a highly skilled Fitness Director and Personal Trainer to join their team at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. As a key member of the Medical Support department, this individual will be responsible for developing and supervising member orientation programs, coordinating fitness center operations, and designing exercise prescriptions tailored to clients' goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and supervise member orientation programs: policies, procedures, forms, and coordination with the Occupational Health Clinic.
  • Coordinate fitness center orientation, instruction, and re-evaluation regarding equipment utilization, body composition, and health risk appraisals.
  • Design, write, and consult suitable individual exercise prescriptions; develop program according to clients' goals and objectives; track each participant's progress.
  • Design, coordinate, and implement wellness programs: special events, new member recruitment, retention, wellness education, and collaboration with the Occupational Health Clinic.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor fitness center goals and objectives.
  • Provide general dietary information and nutritional analysis for participants.
  • Instruct and coordinate a variety of group and personal exercise classes.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitizing of the fitness center and its equipment.
  • Maintain fitness records in the database of members.

Requirements:
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Hold a Personal Trainer Certificate.
  • Have one year of experience within the last three years in a similar setting.
  • Be proficient in using computer systems standard for healthcare delivery.
  • Hold current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Schedule:
  • 8-hour shift.
  • Day shift.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • No weekends.

This is a Mission Essential position working with esteemed scientists and engineers who must meet demanding physical standards. The selected candidate will work closely with the Occupational Health Clinic to assist with training, rehabilitation, and physical performance reviews.
