Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to join our team at the Office of the Dean. The successful candidate will provide high-level administrative support to the Vice President for Health Affairs and Dean, facilitating effective business operations, communication strategies, and the execution of special programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the VP/Dean and senior administrators to coordinate intra-college and university-wide programs and projects.
  2. Participate in the College of Medicine senior leadership team, managing ongoing and special projects.
  3. Oversee and track current College of Medicine projects and tasks.
  4. Contribute to strategic planning and development efforts aligned with the University of Houston's mission.
  5. Supervise office staff, professionals, consultants, and project managers when necessary for various tasks and projects.
  6. Act as a liaison between college personnel and University of Houston units, engaging with executive administrators, community representatives, and donors.
  7. Support the VP/Dean with institutional problem-solving and prepare materials for presentations to various constituencies.
  8. Manage communication flow in and out of the VP/Dean's office, ensuring consistent messaging to stakeholders.
  9. In conjunction with relevant office liaisons, represent the College of Medicine in community and governmental relations on behalf of the VP/Dean and the University.
  10. Conduct data analyses and prepare reports to support executive decision-making.
Requirements

Masters and 5 years experience

Requires application of advanced principles, techniques, and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
