Title: Security Architect - Contractor

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Security Architect will possess a robust background in NERC compliance and will be accountable for the design, evaluation, and implementation of security frameworks aimed at safeguarding critical infrastructure. This role will collaborate with project teams to devise security architectures that protect essential facilities and renewable energy sites while ensuring integration with corporate systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Architecture Development: Formulate and execute security architectures for IT initiatives, ensuring they meet NERC standards and align with organizational objectives.

2. Firewall Strategy: Design and configure firewall solutions to secure network perimeters and facilitate safe data transmission.

3. Interface Protection: Establish security protocols for interactions between external systems and the corporate network to guarantee secure data exchange.

4. Team Collaboration: Partner with IT and security teams to design, implement, and oversee security measures.

Project Engagement and Security Evaluations:

  • Develop a comprehensive list of security requirements and create a checklist for each new project to identify affected areas.

Utilization of the Spreadsheet:

  • Participate in the Architecture Review Board to pinpoint projects requiring verification via the previously created checklist.
  • Collaborate with project teams and other architects to address any compliance challenges and devise technical solutions.

Security Risk Assessment:

  • Engage with the Enterprise Risk team to obtain insights from their risk assessments for projects categorized as high risk.
  • Work alongside project teams and other architects to mitigate risks through architectural enhancements.

Contribute to the design of firewall and security measures for critical facilities, working collaboratively on this ongoing initiative.
