This includes serving as a health advocate, facilitating immunization compliance, triaging students and staff with injuries or illnesses, and administering medication as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify specific medical needs and facilitate appropriate management in the school setting
  • Serve as a health advocate for students and communicate with parents, healthcare providers, and community agencies
  • Facilitate immunization compliance and maintain accurate records
  • Triage students and staff with injuries or illnesses and provide appropriate intervention and follow-up
  • Administer medication as needed and maintain accurate records
  • Maintain and implement individualized health care plans for students with documented health needs
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement school health programs and modify educational programs to meet the health and emotional needs of individual students
Requirements:
  • Valid Massachusetts LPN license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Graduate of an LPN program approved by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing
  • Experience in school, pediatric, public health, or other relevant nursing experience preferred
Working Conditions:

The LPN will work in a normal school environment with an acceptable level of noise. The employee will interact with students, parents, and other staff members and be directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and work output of students.
