Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Framingham Public Schools. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct support to students, assisting them to maintain, improve or adapt to their health status.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct care to students, including administering medication, triaging students with injury or illness, and maintaining individualized health care plans.
  • Collaborating with school personnel to develop and implement school health programs, modify educational programs to meet health and emotional needs of individual students, and consult with teachers regarding students' specific health issues.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, preparing and submitting reports mandated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and providing interpretation of health assessments and medical data for SPED evaluations.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and agencies regarding student health issues, and attending meetings and conferences regarding health services and professional development.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Massachusetts LPN license and current BLS Certification.
  • Graduate of an LPN Program approved by the Massachusetts Board of Nursing.
  • Experience in school, pediatric, public health, or other relevant nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
