HIM Charge Analyst

Job Summary:
The Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled HIM Charge Analyst to join our team. As a key member of the Health Information Management (HIM) department, this individual will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and assigning charges in accordance with E/M, charging, and coding guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate and complete charge assignment
- Apply E/M, charging, and coding guidelines to assign charges
- Collaborate with nurse managers to ensure accurate and complete CPT code capture
- Code to the highest level of specificity to accurately depict the clinical picture
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain effective working relationships with medical staff and other healthcare team members
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and information to ensure compliance
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Health Information Technology or related field preferred
- Notary Public required
- Previous Health Information/Medical Office experience preferred
- Experience with electronic and/or hybrid health information systems preferred
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Ability to read, comprehend, and relay regulatory requirements, guidelines, and information
Working Hours:
This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday, 8AM - 4:30PM. Other hours may be required for the effective operation of the department.
