Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in a dynamic school setting. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs and goals.
  • Therapy Services: Provide evidence-based therapy services to improve speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities in students.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Education and Collaboration: Educate students, families, and healthcare professionals on speech-language disorders, therapy techniques, and strategies for improvement.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility for certification.
  • Licensure: State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience: Previous clinical experience preferred, particularly in diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, compassion, patience, and empathy for individuals with speech and language challenges.

Job Details:

  • Hours: 40 hours weekly, guaranteed.
  • Grade Level: Grades 9-12.
  • Positions: Multiple positions available.
