Restaurant Server Job Description

The Bellevue Hotel is seeking a skilled Restaurant Server to provide exceptional service to our guests in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding service to guests, ensuring their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable.
  • Take orders accurately and efficiently, using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Manage cash and credit transactions, handling payments and making change as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Upsell food and beverage items to guests, promoting our menu offerings and increasing revenue.
  • Monitor and maintain the restaurant's appearance, ensuring it meets The Bellevue Hotel's standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development, staying up-to-date with menu changes and service standards.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with experience in a hotel or restaurant environment preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift, maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food and beverages.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with guests and colleagues in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance, adhering to The Bellevue Hotel's standards and regulations.
  • Comply with The Bellevue Hotel's standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and show initiative, anticipating guest or operational needs.
