Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Behavioral Health Unit at Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas. As a Behavioral Health LPN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments to determine mental health needs and establish a nursing diagnosis.
  • Develop individualized care plans with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for side effects and responses to these medications.
  • Provide restorative care to patients, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment plans.
Requirements
  • Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • IV certification within 90 days of hire.
