Job Summary:
As a Health Educator II, Registered Dietitian at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in assessing, designing, implementing, presenting, and evaluating health education programs and services. Your expertise will be essential in conducting needs assessments, establishing priorities, and developing effective health education programs, protocols, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify health education priorities and develop targeted programs.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate health education programs, ensuring they are culturally sensitive and effective.
  • Provide direct group or one-on-one health education services to members and the public, promoting healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
  • Develop and recommend high-quality, culturally appropriate health education materials, including written and audio-visual content.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to provide related health education services and consult on health education projects.
  • Coordinate health information projects, such as program catalogs, newsletters, and community health events, to promote health education and awareness.
  • Specialize in a specific area of health education, such as HIV nutrition, chronic disease, or health promotion, as required.
  • Prepare reports, grants, proposals, and documentation as assigned, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  • Participate in establishing department strategic goals and priorities, contributing to the development of effective health education strategies.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a field related to the position or one of the following certifications: Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD), Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR), Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP), Fellow of the American Dietetic Association (FADA), or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
  • Previous experience in providing and coordinating health education services, typically 1 year.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a Labor Management Partnership Environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of recent teaching/program planning experience.
  • Knowledge of behavior change, adult learning theory, and curriculum development.
  • Demonstrated ability to use effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong understanding of PC applications and mainframe systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, with the ability to work in a diverse environment.
