Key Responsibilities- Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations to determine and diagnose communicative deficits and equipment needs.
- Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment programs based on the initial evaluation and containing achievable functional goals.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain timely and accurate departmental records, including progress notes and discharge summaries.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with nursing staff, residents, and families to maximize resident use of functional abilities and provide instruction on therapeutic procedures.
- Professional Development: Stay current with community resources and participate in ongoing continuing education opportunities to maintain clinical currency.
- Education: Master's Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Certification: Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) credential offered by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
- Licensure: Valid state Speech Language Pathology licensure.
