Job Summary:

As a Chief Medical Officer at Houston Healthcare, you will be responsible for leading the medical staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medicine, leadership, and administration.

Responsibilities:

• Provide medical leadership and direction to the medical staff.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Collaborate with hospital administrators to achieve organizational goals.
• Foster a culture of safety and quality within the medical staff.
• Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• MD or DO degree from an approved medical school.
• Completed post-graduate training in an approved residency program sufficient to qualify for board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
• Masters or postgraduate degree and/or certification/specialized training in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years' experience in the clinical practice of medicine in their specialty.
• Active in medical staff functions of at least one hospital to gain knowledge of medical staff activities, functions, and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of the workings and requirements of regulatory, federal, and state agencies to function as a liaison for the medical staff.
• Previous experience in a medical staff leadership position preferred.
• Desirable to possess licensure as a physician in the state of Georgia.
• Board certified in a medical specialty recognized by the ABMS.
