Korn Ferry Military Division has partnered with our client to find a skilled Field Service Technician for a remote role covering the New York City territory.



This is a high-travel position, with 3 weeks of travel per month, typically 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will have strong client interfacing skills and experience with load banks or adjacent product lines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform field service to install, commission, repair, and troubleshoot load bank products at customer sites.
  • Travel to customer sites, troubleshoot products, and perform repairs as needed.
  • Perform and document all maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems, repair or replace defective units/components as appropriate.
  • Use test and diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctions.
  • Conduct equipment/system acceptance testing following established procedures.
  • Complete customer site trainings and safety briefings as needed.
  • Prepare and document the details of resolution to the problem from each customer site upon completion of the visit.
  • Troubleshoot and repair product that has been returned to the factory service center.

Requirements:
  • At least 4 years of U.S. Military experience required.
  • Prefer EMs with Medium to High electrical/high-voltage application.
  • 3+ years of Field Service experience, preferably in the power generation or backup power industry.
  • STRONG client interfacing skills.

Location:
Remote (New York City NY territory [live in New Jersey] - must live within 1 hour of a major airport)

Compensation:
$135-150K total ($100-110K base + 7% bonus + 1.5/hr rate for OT)

What You Will Do:
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing field service to install, commission, repair, and troubleshoot load bank products at customer sites. You will travel to customer sites, troubleshoot products, and perform repairs as needed. You will also perform and document all maintenance activities, diagnose errors or technical problems, and repair or replace defective units/components as appropriate. Additionally, you will use test and diagnostic equipment to isolate malfunctions, conduct equipment/system acceptance testing following established procedures, and complete customer site trainings and safety briefings as needed. You will also prepare and document the details of resolution to the problem from each customer site upon completion of the visit, and troubleshoot and repair product that has been returned to the factory service center.
