Wound Care Coordinator Job Summary

The Wound Care Coordinator will oversee and educate hospital staff on wound management and prevention of Nosocomial pressure ulcers. This role involves coordinating the investigation of nursing care improvements and personnel performance, as well as preparing reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop treatment plans according to current wound care protocols, explain dressing rationale, and monitor results of care delivered.
  • Advise physicians on wound patient status.
  • Provide demonstrations on dressing techniques to educate and orient in-services nurses.
  • Identify patients requiring debridement procedures and alert attending physicians.
  • Identify nutritional deficiencies and coordinate with healthcare personnel to solve nutrition problems.
  • Assist in delivery of patient care to accomplish wound care tasks during daily rounds.
  • Ensure adequate materials are available for every patient.

Requirements:
  • Current RN license in the state of Washington.
  • Previous experience in Wound Care is highly preferred.
