About the Role

Mission Veterinary Partners is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a key member of our veterinary care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our mission to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide high-quality patient care, including administering medications, assisting with treatments, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Anesthesia and Surgery: Assist with anesthesia and surgery procedures, including preparing patients, monitoring anesthesia levels, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Dentistry: Provide dental care to patients, including ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, and assisting with dental surgery.
  • Radiology: Position patients for radiographs and assist with sending radiographs via email.
  • Laboratory Duties: Collect, prepare, and run or submit samples for requested tests, and record results as indicated.
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients regarding patient care, including providing updates, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
  • Client Education: Educate clients on at-home care procedures and provide medical demonstrations.
  • Technician Appointments: Assist with blood draws, bandage changes, post-op checks, and other technician-related tasks.
  • Clinic Technician: Assist with outpatient appointments, prepare and restock exam rooms, and ensure a smooth and timely flow of appointments.
  • Reception and Front Desk Duties: Assist with answering phones, booking appointments, admitting and discharging patients, and other front desk tasks as needed.
  • Training and Mentoring: Assist with training and mentoring new team members.
  • Inventory Control: Inform the inventory manager when products are running low, unpack and restock drug and medical supplies.
  • Prescription Preparation: Dispense medications and medication refills as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a veterinary technician or in a related field.
  • Certifications: Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification required.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
