Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the State of Washington. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing direct nursing care and support to clients with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide client care, including administering medications, assessing health status, and responding to emergencies.
  • Coordinate healthcare services, including working with healthcare providers and community programs to ensure clients' medical stability and continuity of care.
  • Train and oversee support staff on health protocols, nurse delegation, and medication management.
  • Maintain accurate health records, document care plans, and ensure compliance with healthcare policies and regulations.
  • Ensure safety and infection control protocols are followed, and coordinate with health authorities as needed.
  • Contribute to nursing care plans, program procedures, and individualized support plans.
  • Handle administrative duties, including completing required reports and participating in meetings.
Requirements
  • Valid LPN license to practice in the state of Washington.
  • One year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Proficiency in applying nursing principles and techniques, with a thorough understanding of developmental disabilities, common medical conditions, and medication reactions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to clients, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, build positive relationships, and show cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Competence in interpreting and applying complex policies and regulations, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring compliance with mandatory reporting requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs.
  • Knowledge of community resources and services available to support clients with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
