Position Overview:

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is in search of a Senior Operations/Maintenance Support Specialist I (M&TE Coordinator) to be stationed at our Aiken, SC facility within the Savannah River Site (SRS).

Role Summary:
The Senior Operations/Maintenance Support Specialist I is responsible for providing strategic direction, oversight, and support to various operational and maintenance teams. This role encompasses a wide range of activities aimed at enhancing the efficiency and safety of specific facilities or operational areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing extensive subject matter expertise to deliver insights, recommendations, and support across diverse activities including audits, assessments, compliance checks, and process enhancements.
  • Reviewing both technical and non-technical documentation to ensure adherence to standards of accuracy, quality, and safety, which includes procedures, work packages, and program documents.
  • Implementing programs and initiatives aimed at operational improvement, ranging from small-scale projects to larger strategic efforts.
  • Conducting inspections and evaluations to guarantee safe and effective operations, while proactively identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Performing in-depth analyses of equipment and components, leading to actionable conclusions and improvement plans.
  • Acting as a superuser and administrator for information systems, overseeing configuration management, data integrity, and system upgrades, while also providing training to staff.
  • Gathering and analyzing information related to abnormal operational events to support investigations and documentation of findings.
  • Coordinating cross-functional activities among construction, operations, maintenance, and project teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Managing materials and waste handling processes, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Providing technical support for operational and maintenance tasks, including assessments and corrective action implementation for system deficiencies.
  • Collaborating with various internal and external groups, serving as a subject matter expert on numerous operational programs and policies.
  • Interpreting and communicating site and departmental protocols effectively.
  • Assuming various contingency coordinator roles as necessary to support operational integrity, including compliance and safety oversight.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED with relevant experience in operations, maintenance, or engineering fields.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree.
