We are seeking a skilled Exterior Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Little City Foundation. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the exterior of our buildings and ensuring a safe and clean environment for our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks on exterior buildings, including but not limited to: plumbing, carpentry, electrical repairs, lock repair, appliance repair, and replacement of broken glass and screens.
- Communicate effectively with the Building Maintenance Manager to report any major problems or concerns.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Participate in a preventative maintenance program to ensure the longevity of our facilities.
- Assist in purchasing supplies and parts as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Provide input into hiring decisions and assist in training new staff members.
- Assist contractors as directed and follow emergency guidelines as outlined in the Disaster Plan Manual.
- Perform duties in other Facility Maintenance areas as directed by the Manager, including but not limited to: setup for special events, furniture moving, and snow removal.
- Maintain annual American Heart Association certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Successfully complete Little City Foundation required training, re-training, and any additional training as required by Little City Foundation policies and practices.
- A High School diploma or GED, preferred.
- A valid Illinois Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to operate listed equipment, including snow blowers and snow plows.
- Must be mechanically inclined and have some experience in interior building maintenance.
- Workable knowledge in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
- Experience in pool/wells/septic maintenance a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting repetitively.
- Ability to read and follow written directions and use road maps for directions.
