Job Summary

The GI Clinic LPN is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing direct care to patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will work collaboratively with designated providers and nursing staff to provide initial intake, reminders, and observe and report reasons for the visit to the provider and/or RN in the clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to patients in the GI clinic, including initial intake, reminders, and observation and reporting of reasons for the visit.
  • Work collaboratively with designated providers and nursing staff to prioritize patient care needs and adjust plans for care delivery.
  • Assist RN and/or MD/DO in addressing patient needs for medication/treatments, accurately administering prescribed medications/treatments according to established policies/procedures, and appropriately recording administration and patient's response to medications/treatments received.
  • Support the RN or MD/DO in monitoring the practice of unlicensed nursing or non-medical staff in patient care delivery.
  • Participate in the development of the plan of care for assigned patients, outlining program modalities and updates per policy and as changes occur.
  • Contribute to the overall veteran care delivery, improving satisfaction, through active participation on committees, task forces, and groups.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
  • Full, active, current, and unrestricted licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or District of Columbia.
  • English Language Proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous LPN GI experience.
