Job Description:
We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled School-Based Speech Therapist to join our team. As a Soliant employee, you will have the opportunity to work with students who require speech and language support in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Assess and diagnose speech and language disorders in students, identifying areas of strength and weakness.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with communication needs, working closely with teachers and parents to ensure progress.
- Direct Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services to students both one-on-one and in small groups, using evidence-based practices to support communication development.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet their changing needs.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom activities, promoting a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Parent Support: Educate and support parents and guardians on strategies to support their child's communication development, fostering a sense of community and partnership.
- Multidisciplinary Team Meetings: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of educational plans and ensuring comprehensive support for students.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and research in speech-language pathology and special education, enhancing your skills and knowledge to better serve students.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: California licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certification: Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a school setting or with children is highly desirable.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
