Job Summary

Halekulani Hotel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commis de Cuisine 2 to join our culinary team in the Main Kitchen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional guest service and ensure that all guests receive a high-quality dining experience.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, adhering to departmental quality standards and specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of food, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations and hotel standards.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, providing support and assistance to colleagues as needed.
  • Participate in menu planning and development, ensuring that all dishes are appealing and meet the hotel's high standards.
  • Assist in the training and development of junior staff members, ensuring that they receive the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that all ingredients and supplies are stocked and available as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required, including opening and closing duties, and assisting with special events and functions.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end hotel or restaurant.
  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate, prior restaurant service and guest relations experience preferred.
  • Servsafe certification and culinary certification required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and guests.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods, with the ability to move quickly and efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
