Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Manager is a pivotal role within Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District, reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer. This position is responsible for overseeing employee-related matters and executing strategies across various essential domains of human resources, including but not limited to recruitment, compensation and benefits, compliance with employment laws, training and development, and ensuring employee safety and wellness.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee HR generalists and HR assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits of payroll, benefits, and other HR programs as directed by the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Establish objectives for the HR team and monitor progress.
  • Design and implement policies that foster a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Human Resources Officer on strategic HR initiatives, which may encompass Performance Management, Workforce Planning, Employee Learning and Development, Diversity, Compliance, Recruitment, and Compensation-related tasks.
  • Address employee concerns proactively and coordinate necessary investigations with the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Manage termination processes, including the preparation of termination documents and participation in termination meetings.
  • Assist the Chief Human Resources Officer in the preparation and coordination of wage analysis.
  • Coordinate the Performance Management process.
  • Prepare reports as required by the organization.
  • Support the Chief Human Resources Officer in various HR functions, including recruitment, personnel records management, employee relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organizational development, training, and special projects.
  • Assist in the rollout of core programs related to compensation and performance management.
  • Customize and deliver specific HR initiatives, such as coaching managers on performance management and employee development.
  • Lead HR projects as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Oversee the daily execution of HR projects, programs, and strategies, including communication, onboarding, benefits, and talent management.
  • Perform a variety of professional and administrative HR functions.
  • Drive performance management initiatives within the organization.
  • Advise leaders and managers on employee relations issues and facilitate appropriate resolutions.
  • Approve transactions in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to ensure data integrity for reporting and analysis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines; strong cognitive skills are essential.
  • Solid understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

  • Formal training in general business, Human Resources Management, and office practices.
  • Associate degree in Business or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources, or 5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience with ADP is highly preferred.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
  • PHR or SHRM certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, and climb to access supplies and files; must be able to speak, hear, and see for phone and office machine operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines; strong cognitive skills are necessary.
