PRIMARY ROLE:
Design and specify sophisticated electrical, mechanical, and automated systems. Enhance manufacturing support and maintenance initiatives through training and technical assistance. Develop process specifications, machine parameters, and strategies for reducing waste and improving operational uptime. Lead capital projects from initial planning to procurement, installation, testing, and transition to operational teams. Benchmark leading facilities and implement top-tier processes, equipment, and workflows.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
Design control systems for machinery, encompassing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
Select capital machinery for production processes.
Enhance existing machinery to boost uptime, elevate quality, and increase productivity.
Provide engineering support for production equipment and processes, including maintenance advisement.
Establish cost-saving initiatives to align with overall plant objectives.
Advise on enhancements to preventative maintenance strategies.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal engineers for ongoing improvement initiatives.
Authorize modifications to machine tool programs.
Train staff on emerging technologies and manufacturing methodologies.
Adhere to and uphold Quality Management System and Environmental Management System standards.
Participate in teams and lead team activities.
Monitor and document cost savings.
PFMEAs:
Understand the application of PFMEAs within the organization; develop, maintain, and review PFMEAs as required.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.
Position necessitates technical expertise in machine operations, processes, control systems, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives, and electrical/electronic systems.
Technical knowledge in mechanical design is essential.Demonstrated abilities in capital equipment justification, project scheduling, and managerial planning are crucial. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
Mentorship and development of maintenance personnel are expected.
Assist other facilities with technical challenges.
Applicants must be capable of independently managing assigned project tasks.
Preferred experience in data-driven analysis and problem-solving techniques.
