Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of safety programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Promote and foster a culture of safety awareness through training, communication, and hands-on engagement with employees.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs, including orientation for new hires, refresher courses, and targeted training for specific areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with department heads, supervisors, and employees to integrate safety best practices into daily operations.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, trends, and incidents, providing reports and recommendations to management.
  • Lead investigations into workplace accidents, near-misses, and incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and preventive measures are in place.
  • Serve as a liaison with external regulatory agencies and contractors regarding safety compliance.
  • Stay current on industry safety trends, regulatory changes, and innovations to continuously improve safety standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Experience in the metals industry is a plus.
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive safety culture changes and influence behavior at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead safety investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management systems.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
