Job Description

Amphenol TCS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our High Speed Backplane Product Development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing next-generation high-speed connector products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-speed connector products that meet industry requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Signal Integrity, Mechanical Integrity, and NPI, to ensure product design meets electrical and mechanical performance requirements.
  • Conduct tolerance loop analyses and aid in material selection to ensure product reliability and quality.
  • Develop initial product specifications and technical documentation.
  • Interface with customers and internal sales and marketing teams to ensure product meets customer needs and expectations.
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to design and develop production tooling and fixtures.
  • Participate in quality investigations and quality improvement initiatives to ensure operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Engineering (mechanical focused) preferred, or MS/BS in Mechanical Engineering with significant experience in an electronics industry.
  • Minimum of 10+ years industry experience in design, preferably within electronics industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly capable with solid modeling/CAE/CAD tools (Creo, Solidworks, etc.).
  • High level of manufacturing technology experience.
  • Experience in tolerance analysis.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Good understanding of GD&T methodologies.
  • Familiarity with patent (intellectual property) law, and the patent application process.
  • Ability to communicate with both technical & non-technical people.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
