Your Role

The Nursing Assistant delivers essential and specialized nursing care in compliance with local and regulatory standards, under the guidance of a licensed nurse. They collaborate with healthcare team members to strategize and execute patient care activities. Additionally, they may rotate between units after completing a general orientation to ensure sufficient nursing staff across care areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities (ADLs) and accurately document care provided.
  • Monitor and report vital signs and patient information promptly, alerting the licensed nurse to any irregularities.
  • Complete assigned tasks, manage workflow effectively, and participate in meetings and training as directed by the nursing supervisor.
  • Exhibit professional conduct and accountability, maintain confidentiality, and ensure safe, compassionate patient care.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising nurse, including organizing medical supplies and orienting new staff members.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program is necessary.

Experience

  • Knowledge of basic patient care methods and procedures is essential.
  • Ability to manage a variety of routine tasks while maintaining an orderly workflow.
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must maintain clearance for a Public Trust Position, if applicable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in using computers and standard software applications.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current certification in the state of practice is mandatory.
