OPT FOR HEALTHY LIVING is seeking qualified candidates to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Counseling. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Counseling or a closely related field and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students.
**Responsibilities**
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Counseling, focusing on topics such as career development, mental health, and counseling theories.
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's mission and goals, emphasizing the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Advise and mentor students in the Department of Counseling, providing guidance on academic and professional development.
- Participate in departmental and university service activities, contributing to the growth and success of the institution.
**Qualifications**
- Master's degree in Counseling or a closely related field, with a strong emphasis on teaching and research.
- Record of teaching contributions in the areas of counseling or related fields, with a focus on innovative pedagogy and student-centered learning.
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate inclusion, diversity, and educational equity in teaching, with a commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.
- Experience working closely with students from historically underrepresented communities, with a focus on promoting diversity and inclusion.
- Experience in counseling practice related to the course assignment, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practices.
- Record of contributing to collegial, supportive, and collaborative work environments, with a focus on teamwork and communication.
- Experience and/or expertise in the content area of the specific course assignment, with a strong emphasis on staying current with best practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to diverse and minoritized communities, with a focus on promoting social justice and equity.
