Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dentist (Chief, Dental Officer) to join our team at the Department of Justice. As a key member of our dental team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care to our patients, as well as overseeing the management of our dental program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive dental care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of dental diseases.
  • Oversee the management of our dental program, including budget development, statistical and narrative summary reports, and policy development.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and coordination.
  • Supervise and develop the potential of subordinates, including dental hygienists and assistants.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental technology and techniques.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • At least one year of experience performing professional dentistry work for GS-12 level and above assignments.
  • Ability to develop a treatment plan and determine the type of restoration and/or prosthetic needed to fulfill the patient's treatment plan.
  • Ability to recognize dental diseases and provide appropriate professional treatment.
  • Ability to instruct and counsel difficult patients on proper dental care.
  • Ability to perform oral surgery.
  • Ability to supervise and develop the potential of subordinates.
